Ant Egg Soup: The Adventures of a Food Tourist in Laos Paperback – February 1, 2005
I actually read this book a few months ago, when I was dreaming of the possibility of returning to Laos, and wanting to read about the adventures of others, and perhaps live a little vicariously. I’m not a big ‘foodie’ but the stories told by the author, and her personality and adventurous spirit that shone through were inspiring. And funny – must retain the sense of humour! Great observations and stories of roads less travelled. As for the food, well I’m sure I’ll be sustained whilst there, and apparently many people head over the border to Thailand when they get really hungry!
